Paths Untraveled

Do not shed a tear for those words of love never spoken
Do not tremble so hard that my knees are weak
Do not weep for me for those things that were left unsaid
Do not worry about me if my heart is broken
Cause the road ahead of me is filled with tears
And although I have felt the worse kind of pain I've known
I know that the future holds me not to be alone

So as I drive my soul towards a vision of passion
I see the road as a means to get me there fulfilled and free
Leaving behind those paths and roads untraveled
Has caused me to cry for those paths where I was left alone

Sometimes, the highway is long and twisted with long binding bends
Leaving me stranded to no blinded end crossing bridges small and broad
It’s the worse kind of pain you will have ever known
To leave behind roads untraveled and paths left alone
So take my hand and walk with me in sorrow
Take an empty seat beside me and see tomorrow

This is not about my heart being left shattered or unbroken
This is not about those hearts I left behind as time took its toll
And as I let that mistake pass me by in the morning sun
I know that the loss of your love wasn’t worth what it cost
Cause tomorrow can soothe the pain and sorrow that love can bring

Driving alone down the empty highways and sideways in the dark
Hoping that in time, all the pain will be gone and faded
I seem to weep for sights unseen and roads untraveled
I seem to yearn for the sunlight to bring me a new life of love
Looking at the stars and the moon gives me hope for tomorrow
Feeling the love inside brings me long deserved joy
